FAQ
What is a Registered Dietitian?
Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) are food and nutrition experts with a minimum of a graduate degree from an accredited dietetics program and who completed a supervised practice requirement, passed a national exam and continue professional development throughout their careers. (Eatright.org, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics)
What is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist?
I earned my Certified Breastfeeding Specialist credential through Lactation Education Resources (LER). It involved 95 hours of lactation specific education.
The Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) certification identifies a lactation professional who has received training in the education and support of breastfeeding and chestfeeding families through pregnancy, breastfeeding initiation, and the normal course of lactation.
Do you take insurance?
I take insurance for nutrition services, I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Sunflower Medicaid, and United Healthcare/Optum. If I am out of network with your insurance, I am happy to provide you with a Superbill for any nutrition services if you would like to submit it to your insurance. I am a licensed dietitian in the state of Kansas.
Lactation services are self-pay at this time. Initial lactation visits are $120 and last around 1 hour. Follow up visits are between $60 and $120 depending on length of visit and last between 30 - 60 minutes.
